PLTP Sarulla unit 2 to reach COD this month

Unit 2 of the PLTP Sarulla geothermal power plant project with capacity of 110 MW in North Sumatera province is scheduled to be on stream at the end of this month, according to an official at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
?God Willing, the unit 2 of PLTP Sarulla will achieve its COD (Commercial Operation Date) at the end of February, but the inauguration depends on the president (Joko Widodo?s schedule),? Director of Geothermal at the Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy at the ministry Yunus Saefulhak to Petromindo.com on Monday.
The first unit of the Sarulla geothermal power plant project supplies electricity to state-owned electricity firm PT PLN's power grid. The US$1.7 billion Sarulla geothermal power plant project has a total installed capacity of 330 MW.
