The PLTU Bolok 2x15 MW coal-fired power plant in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, is down again after one of its turbines was hit by fire, forcing state-owned electricity firm PT PLN to suffer power loss of 20 MW, or 40 percent of the peak load in Kupang.
As a result, the Kupang region has to suffer another brownouts, Media Indonesia quoted Machnizon, Regional Director of PLN?s East Nusa Tenggara and Sulawesi region office, as saying Friday.
He did not say as to when the repair work of the PLTU Bolok to be completed. The power plant recently suffered a similar incident at one of its two turbines, of which repair work was completed on November 20. (*)
