PLTU CEP Unit 2 needs 4 million tons of coal a year

Independent power producer PT Cirebon Electric Power (CEP) will need at least four million tons of coal to feed the second unit of the company?s power plant (PLTU CEP Unit 2) which will be built in Cirebon, West Java
?We will need 4 million tons a year for PLTU CEP Unit 2. Coal will be provided by our affiliated form Kideco Jaya Agung,? Hero Dewanto, the director of PT CEP said, adding that PLTU CEP Unit 2 would have capacity of 1,000 megawatt (MW).
Heru said that CEP had sent a letter to state electricity company PLN to require its approval for the construction of the second unit following the operation of the first unit on July 27.
?We hope power purchase agreement with PLN for the second unit can be signed early next year,? he added. According to PLN?s program, PLTU CEP Unit 2 is scheduled for commercial operation in 2016 or 2017.
