The steam power plant (PLTU) Lombok Timur with a generation capacity of 2 x 25 megawatt (MW) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province needs coal supply of 171,000 tons per year.
?Until now, there has been no supplier of coal appointed for this steam power plant yet,? state utility PT PLN?s Coal Division Head Helmi Najamuddin told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Thursday.
The PLTU is being constructed by PT Lombok Energy Dynamics. Last week, this company signed the power purchase agreement (PPA) with PLN as the buyer of the power generated from the power plant.
Scheduled to start commercial operation in 2016, the steam power plant is also expected to help increase the electrification ratio in Lombok island, NTB.
