Two coal fired power plants which will be built in Riau, PLTU Rengat and PLTU Tembilahan, each with the capacity of 2x7 MW, need a combined 300,000 tons of coal per year

?There isn?t decision on the suppliers of the coal. It is PLN (state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara) which holds the right to decide on the matter during tender. But, we have the right to participate in the tender,? Andri Cahyadi, President Commissioner of PT Exploitasi Energi Indonesia Tbk (E21), the developer of the projects, told Petromindo.com in Jakarta on Friday.

Andri said E21 is waiting for the arrival of machines from abroad to start the construction of the power plants. ?The machines are expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2014 and the two power plants are expected to start operation in the fourth quarter of 2014,? he said.
