PLTU Sumsel-5 needs 2 mtpa coal

Coal-fired power plant (PLTU) Sumsel-5 requires about 2 million tons coal per annum (mtpa) which would be supplied by its project developer of PT Dian Swastatika Sentos Tbk (DSS).

"Our plan is the coal requirement (for the PLTU) would be from our subsidiary coal company, PT Bumi kencana Eka Sejahtera which is located near the plant,? DSS Corporate Secretary Hermawan Tarjono told Petromindo.com on Thursday.

PLTU Sulsel-5 located in Banyuasin, South Sumatra is now entering construction phase.

"We target the commercial operation could be run in 2015,? he said.

The power plant with capacity of 2 x 150 megawatts (MW) will supply electricity to the transmission network belong to the state-owned electricity company (PLN).

DSS and PLN have signed Power purchase agreement (PPA) since 2011 with the sales contract for 25 years.
