PLTU Tanjung Jati B unit 4 commences operation

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik will on Monday inaugrate the operation of coal fired power plant (PLTU) Tanjung Jati B unit 4 with capacity of 662 megawatt (MW), the state electricity company PT PLN announced on Sunday.
The operation of the power plant follows the operation of PLTU Tanjung Jati B unit 3 which started operation in December 2011. PLTU Tanjung Jati B unit 1 and 2 began operation in 2006. With the operation of the power plant, PLTU Tanjung Jati B now has a capacity to generate total power of 2,640 MW all of which is integrated to the Java Bali power grid system.
At present, the peak power consumption of the Java ?Bali stands at average 19,700 MW while the total capacity of the power grid system can reach 23,000 MW.
