PMA to begin coal production at Gunung Mas in mid 2013

South kalimantan coal mining and trading firm PT Prima Multi Artha Group (PMA) plans to begin coal production at its coal mine in Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan, in the middle of 2013, delayed from the initial plan of the fourth quarter of this year, according to a source.
The source told Petromindo.com that the coal mining project is currently at the stage of developing infrastructure facitlies such as hauling road, river port etc, which are expected to be cmopleted next year.
The company is currently calculating the JORC compliant coal reserves. Based on initial calculation, the calorific value of coal from the Gunung Mas mine is 5,800 kcal/kg (ADB).
PMA also has a coal mine in Katingan, Central Kalimantan, with an acreage of 8,900 ha which is currently in the stage of exploration.
The company has five five producing coal mines in Binuang Regency, South Kalimantan. From the five mines, PMA produces 200,000 tons of coal per month of various specifications and with an FOB vessel selling system.
