Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) president Thelmo Cunanan said Thursday that PNOC is in talks with Pertamina for a possible natural gas supply agreement, Dow Jones Newswires reported.
He said PNOC is seeking to tap gas supply from Indonesia's East Natuna field through the potential deal with Pertamina.
He said the gas supply will meet natural gas requirements that can't be supplied by the country's Malampaya natural gas field. Philippine plans to promote greater use of natural gas as fuel for power generation, industrial use and transportation.
Cunanan said he expects to get a preliminary update on the progress of the talks with Pertamina in the coming days. (*)
