A private coal transhipment company PT Pelayaran Nasional Tanjungriau Servis (PNTS) said that the company targeted to ship 35 million tons of coal in 2012, higher than last year's figure of 26,11 million tons.
"In meeting the target, PNTS would invest US$80 million for purchasing logistic assets," PNTS director Adi Kusumah told Petromindo.com
He said that the investment would include purchasing one unit of floating terminal, one floating crane and a number of tugs and barges in April.
PNTS claimed to be the market leader in managing the supply chain of coal bulk cargo in Indonesia. Its current assets include four units of floating crane with up to 35,000 tons of capacity per day, tug and barge sets with up to 360,000 tons of cargo carrying capacity in Banjarmasin and Muara Pantai Area, Kalimantan and two new sets of manual grabs (5 units per set) with adjustable capacity from 6 to 9cbm located in East and South Kalimantan since 2010.
