Chevron Indonesia Company (CICo) has submitted the revised Plan of Development (PoD) for Gehem field in Rapak block and Gendalo field in Ganal block in East Kalimantan to upstream authority SKK Migas on Dec. 31, 2015.
Both fields, which are part of the Indonesian Deepwater Development (IDD) gas project, are scheduled to come onstream in 2022 and 2023, Gunawan Sutadiwiria, Planning Deputy at SKK Migas, said, adding that the meeting on the PoD will be kicked off in the second week of January.
He said in the PoD, CICo also requested contract extension but he did not provide details on the request.
The IDD project comprises of four gas blocks including Ganal, Rapak, Makassar Strait, and Muara Bakau, covering five fields including Bangka, Gehem, Gendalo, Maha, and Gandang. The blocks of Ganal, Rapak, and Makassar Strait are operated by CICo, while the Muara Bakau block by Eni Spa. According to an earlier estimate, the IDD project is able to produce 1,270 mmscfd of gas at peak production.
The Bangka field is now being developed and is expected to come onstream in the second quarter of this year, according to a report recently released by SKK Migas.
Contract on Makassar Strait block expires in 2020, while contract on Ganal in 2028, and Rapak in 2027. Earlier reports said CICo wanted all contracts to be extended to 2028.
