PoDs for Ridho Karang and Ande-Ande Lumut fields signed

Newly installed Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik has signed the plan of development (PoD) document for the Ridho Karang Agung and Ande-Ande Lumut WK West Natuna fields.

Local oil and gas firm PT Odira Energy is the operator of the Karang Agung PSC onshore South Sumatra, while PT Genting Oil Natuna operates Ande-Ande Lumut. ?With the PoD signed, both fields can now be officially developed,? said Secretary of Directorate General of Oil and Gas Edi Purnomo.

Total investment is estimated to reach US$28.6 million for the Ridho field and US$81.9 million for Ande-Ande Lumut.

Edi added that it took about two years for the fields to produce. Odira has said that the Ridho field would produce 1,800 barrels of oil per day.

In the meantime, Minister Jero also announced he had approved a gas selling price agreement involving Australian oil and gas firm Santos and state-owned power firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN). Up to 55 mmscfd of gas will be supplied from the Wortel field to the Grati power plant operated by PLN unit PT Indonesia Power.

The Minister also approved gas purchasing agreement under which PT Pertamina EP will supply 5 mmscfd of gas to PLN?s power plant in Jambi. (Josef/bernard)
