Poland wants to invest in the power sector in East Kalimantan province, the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper reported in its Friday edition.

This was disclosed by Poland?s Ambassador to Indonesia Tomasz Lukaszuk in Samarinda when he met East Kalimantan Governor Suwarna Abdul Fattah on Thursday.

Ambassador Tomasz said a Polish business delegation will visit the province to study the business opportunities.

?We are very much interested in investing in this area because there are so many opportunities which can be developed into business,? Tomasz said.

According to Tomasz, Poland has the technology to build coal-fired power plants with capacity of up to 300 MW.

Governor Suwarna has welcomed the Poland?s plan because the province is currently facing shortages of power. (*)
