The Police were forced to hunt down the suspect, a U.S. citizen, who was identified by his initial R, because he was failed to respond to the police summons.

?We are getting cooperation from the U.S. Interpol in searching for the suspect. We are trying to finish this job quickly,? National Police?s criminal investigation chief Comm. Suyitno Landung said on Tuesday at the Ministry of Finance building in Jakarta

National Police, according to Lundung, has been trying to find a missing document in KBC (Karaha Bodas Company) case. Because of this missing document, the prosecutor?s office had returned dossiers on the suspects to police.

Earlier, Police declared three people ? P, S (both are from Pertamina) and R (U.S.) ? as suspects in this case.

This week the government said it would send a lobby team to the United States to negotiate with KBC to reduce the claim amount of Rp 2.7 trillion.

KBC was closed in 1997 due to Asian finance crisis. But it won arbitration against Pertamina, under which, Pertamina must pay more that $290 million (including interest)to the firm.(*)
