A company from the police?s special elite unit Bromob in Palembang has been deployed to protect coal mining operator PT Bukit Asam in Tanjungenim, South Sumatra after a group of youths issued a threat that they would occupy the company?s headquarter, Sriwijaya Post reported on Tuesday.
The daily also reported that the company?s security guards and local residents had been also mobilized to face the threat made by youths who claimed themselves as members of the Council of Sriwijaya Youths (Demusi).
The group of youth threatened to occupy the company?s headquarter in Tanjungenim, some 100 kilometers from Palembang, in their protest against the recent reshuffle in the company?s management.
They said that the reshuffle where most of the top positions in the company?s management were replaced by professionals from outside the company was not transparent.
However, until late in the evening on Monday, none of the group?s members managed to come. No incidence was also reported. (*)
