Indonesia?s second largest propylene producer PT Polytama Propolindo has started commercial operation of a special propylene gas handling terminal at the Cirebon port, in West Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported Saturday.
The paper quoted Polytama President Director Didik Susilo as saying that the special port will help the company ship in the required gas raw materials from other sources overseas as the company plans to expand production.
He added that the presence of the special port will also help the company in ensuring gas raw material supply in case there is disruption in the supply from current sole supplier, state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina.
Didik said that Polytama, which is 80 percent owned by Tuban Petro Group, plans to expand production capacity to up to 240,000 tons per year from the current 180,000 tons per year.(*)
