Posco scouts for Indonesian coal supply

South Korean steel and energy conglomerate Posco is scouting for 5 million tones per annum of Indonesian coal to fuel its proposed power plant and coal gasification projects in South Korea.
Manager Coal Gasification Project Team Soon Goo Jeoung told Petromindo.Com on a sideline of Coaltrans conference that the company had held talks with another Korean firm Samtan Corp., which operates East Kalimantan coal mining firm PT.Kideco Jaya Agung, but thus far, no deal has been reached.
Jeoung said that the power plant would be completed in 2012 while the coal gasification plant would be completed a year after.(denny)
