The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that power supply returned to normal on Thursday in some flood-affected areas in the Greater Jakarta Area (or Jabodetabek).
The ministry said in a statement that a total of 2,973 power relay stations in the Greater Jakarta Area (or Jabodetabek) have resumed normal operations after they’re turned off during the massive floods on Wednesday.
The ministry said that another 2,123 power relay stations in areas still inundated with water remained suspended by state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.
Jakarta and its satellite cities experienced the worst rainfall in over a decade on Tuesday, causing massive floods in many areas and prompting PLN to temporarily shut down power supply in affected areas.
