Power supply from Java-Bali grid returns to normal

The 13,117 MW was higher than the 12,485 MW supplied Friday by PT Indonesia Power, a unit of state electricity firm PLN which operates the Java and Bali power grid, said PLN?s power transmission and distribution director Herman Darnel Ibrahim. On Friday, electricity demand during peak hours amounted to 11,850 MW, Herman added.
?We expect that the situation will be normal today, like what happened yesterday,? Herman said.
A few days ago, power generators in Java could supply only around 12,840 MW of electricity the Java and Bali power system while demand during peak hours was around 13,250 MW. The smaller supply of electricity was due to technical problems on several power plants namely Tanjung Priok power plant in North Jakarta; Saguling, Muara Tawar and Jatiluhur plants in West Java; and Dieng plant in Central Java.
On Friday, power supply from those plants rose to a combined 383 MW after PLN repaired their troubled units.
Indonesia Power said its technicians were fixing the power generators. (godang)
