Power tariff falls in August due to stronger rupiah

State owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) (PLN) said on Monday power tariff falls in August due to a stronger rupiah against the US dollar and the drop in the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP).
The rupiah strengthened to Rp 13,355.65 per US dollar in June from 13,419.65 in May. ICP stood at $44.5 per barrel in June, slightly decreasing from $44.68 per barrel in May. Meanwhile, ICP was at 0.66 percent in June, higher compared to 0.24 percent in May
As a result of the three indicators, power tariff for low voltage for August has been set at 1,402.12/kWh, for medium voltage at 1,084.66/kWh and for high voltage at Rp 971.01/kWh. Meanwhile, power tariff for special service is Rp 1,593.78/kWh.
