Power tariff from Batang plant set at 6.7 US cents per Kwh

The government has set the electricity selling price from the planned Batang power plant at 6.7 US cents per Kwh, Kontan daily reported on Friday quoting Freddy Riskon Saragih, Head of the Fiscal Risk Management Center at the Ministry of Finance.

PT Bhimasena Power Indonesia, a consortium comprising of Adaro Energy, J-Power and Itochu, has been struggling to complete land acquisition for the planned 2x1,000 MW coal-fired power plant project in Batang Regency, Central Kalimantan.

The company has yet to complete the acquisition of the remaining two plots of land, about 7.7 hectares, the paper said. Without, completion of the land acquisition, financial closure for the US$4 billion project could not be made. (*)
