State-owned engineering and construction company PT PP said that its 10 MW waste-based power plant (PLTSa) project in Surakarta, Central Java Province, is targeted to start operation next year.

?Currently, it (the project) is under construction. The target is for next year to start operation,? PP Director of EPC and Foreign Partnership, Abdul Haris Tatang told Petromindo.com on Monday.

The company is teaming up with PT Citra Metrojaya Putra in the project.

Abdul said that the 10 MW power plant will require 200 tons of waste per day, which will be processed into energy by using General Electric?s gasification plasma technology.
