PPEJ begins drilling of Sumber#1 well

JOB Pertamina-Petrochina East Java (PPEJ) started drilling of Sumber#1 exploration well in Sumber field within the Tuban Block in East Java on Wednesday, targeting a depth of 3,500 meters.
General Manager of PPEJ Eddy Fritz told Petromindo.com that the rig NYT-03 was used in the drilling work.
Eddy added that PPEJ?s production currently stands at around 34,500 bopd. The Sumber#1 well is expected to provide additional oil reserves of about 9.5 million barrels. ?Production target for this year is 40,000 bopd,? he said.
Vice President for Partnership at Petrochina Budi Setiadi said that his company expects the drilling work would increase reserves at the block.
