PPEJ prepares to develop Sukowati C field

Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-Petrochina East Java (PPEJ) is currently making preparations to develop the Sukowati C oil field at the Tuban block, in Bojonegoro Regency, East Java.

?We?re currently preparing land for the development of the Sukowati C field as principle permit from the local administration has been obtained for the location of the field development in Trucuk District,? said Field Manager of JOB PPEJ, Junizar Dipodiwirjo Thursday as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the development of the Sukowati C field forms part of efforts to help arrest the current natural decline in the production of the Sukowati field.

According to data, Sukowati A field in Campurejo Village and Sukowati B field in Ngampel Village, both in Kota District, and Mudi field in Soko District, in Tuban block, with 59 wells currently produce about 19,000 barrels per day, a decline compared to 22,000 bpd last year.

Junizar said that despite the natural decline in production, the field still has reserves potential of about 150 million barrels, of which 30-45 percent can technically be extracted.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi holds 75 percent interest in the JOB PPEJ, which operates the Tuban block, with the remainder 25 percent held by PetroChina East Java. (*)
