PPL suspends South Karamba well

Local firm PT Pandawa Prima Lestari (PPL) has suspended test of South Karamba exploration well in Wain PSC onshore East Kalimantan, an official at upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said.

Chief of Representative of Kalimantan and Sulawesi area Agus Suryono said on Tuesday that the well was suspended to be tested in the future. He did not give detail.

Agus said in November 2009 that the well would be drilled to the depth of 1,350 meters.

He said that currently the Company is conducting seismic to decide on the next well location which is planned to be drilled later this year or early next year.

The Wain PSC was awarded to PPL in January 2007. (bernard)
