President Prabowo Subianto is expected to inaugurate two liquefied petroleum gas plants by the end of April 2026, the head of upstream regulator SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, told lawmakers on Wednesday.
The facilities comprise the Cilamaya LPG plant operated by PT Energi Nusantara Perkasa in West Java and the Tuban LPG plant in East Java operated by PT Sumber Aneka Gas.
The Cilamaya plant is designed to produce 163 metric tons per day, equivalent to about 1,891 barrels of oil per day, and has reached 92.9% completion. Testing has been conducted on feed gas lines, lean gas systems and flare systems, with installation ongoing in the LPG processing area, product pipelines and condensate unloading terminal.
The Tuban plant is expected to produce 30 metric tons per day, or around 348 barrels of oil per day, and is currently undergoing commissioning ahead of its planned start-up later this month.

Djoko also outlined additional LPG projects. The Jambi Merang LPG plant is scheduled for groundbreaking around June, with planned capacity of 320 metric tons per day and a targeted start-up in the second quarter of 2027. The engineering, procurement and construction contract has been awarded to PT WIN, while evaluation of a potential acquisition of an existing LPG facility is ongoing.
Another project, the Senoro LPG plant, is planned with capacity of 54 metric tons per day and a start-up target in 2027. Work is underway on a flare gas recovery system expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026, alongside evaluation of potential relocation of an existing LPG facility.
Separately, SKK Migas is reviewing a proposed LPG plant development in East Java by PT ARSynergy, with planned capacity of 50 metric tons per day and a potential start-up in 2027.
