Prabowo visits Russia to secure crude supply amid global uncertainty

President Prabowo Subianto traveled to Moscow on Sunday to strengthen energy cooperation with Russia, with a focus on securing crude oil supply to support national energy needs.

Prabowo is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with discussions expected to cover oil supply stability and broader energy collaboration, a release from the Ministry of  Energy and Mineral Resources said.

The visit comes as part of efforts to ensure long-term energy security amid shifting global supply dynamics and geopolitical uncertainty.

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia accompanied the president, highlighting the strategic role of the energy sector in bilateral relations.

Officials said the talks aim to maintain stable crude supply and expand cooperation in the energy sector, as global market conditions continue to affect supply and demand balances.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said ensuring availability of oil remains a priority in the discussions.
