UK based oil firm Premier Oil said hopes to seal agreement with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) by year end to pipe natural gas from its Block A production sharing contract offshore West Natuna to peninsular Malaysia, the company said in a statement Monday.

State oil and gas company Pertamina, together with Premier, had been in negotiation for several years with Petronas to supply some 100 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas from Block A to Malaysia for ten years, but talks had been slow due to several unknown reasons.

Premier has 66.7 percent working interest in West Natuna Block A PSC and is the block's operator. Premier, together with Conoco Phillips, is a consortium member that supplies natural gas from West Natuna to Singapore. (alex/robert)
