Premier Oil Plc has discovered gas in Indonesia at Iguana-I gas field, near the West Natuna gas export facilities.

The company announced in London on Tuesday that it discovered gas columns in four separate reservoir sands in the Arang formation, close to its Pelikan Gajah Putri and recent Naga discoveries.

Premier also said that it would not quit from Myanmar despite the request from the United Kingdom to do so as soon as legally possible.

The company said that it decided to stay in the country because it had a legal obligation to Myanmar companies and to a Thai company contracted to buy gas from its Yetagun, Myanmar gas project. (*)
