President to inaugurate Antam’s power plant today

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled today to officially inaugurate the operation of state owned mining company Antam’s new power plant in its nickel mining unit in Pomalaa, Kolaka regency, South Sulawesi, Investor daily reported on Monday.
Usman Rahiem, the spokesman for Antam’s nickel mining unit, said that the new power plant which would have a capacity of 102 megawatt would be operated to support the operation of the company’s third nickel processing plant FeNi III.
“The combined cycle power plant has been built with total cost of about US$645 million,” he said.
He said the company has so far operated two power plants wih a capacity of 17 MW and 22 MW, respectively, to provide power supply for the other two processing plants FeNi I and FeNi II. (*)
