Press release: Antam's monthly exploration report for July 2005

PT. Antam is pleased to lodge the monthly exploration report for July 2005 in accordance with the Jakarta Stock Exchange listing rules. Exploration activities remained focused on Antam?s main commodities of nickel laterite, gold and bauxite. The total cost for exploration in july 2005 reached Rp 6 billion , 8% lower than Rp 6.5 billion in June 2005.

Nickel

Antam conducted nickel exploration in Buli, Halmahera, South East Sulawesi and Obi Island. Exploration in Buli included 2, 537 meters of drilling at Pakal, Mornopo and Sangaji. To support exploration planning at halmahera, Antam conducted analyses of the continuation of nickel laterite deposit with 1,625 meters of infilling drilling at Tanjung Buli and Mornopo, boulder distribution analyses (georadar research on several mining blocks) and Mornopo mine design preparation for the total cost of Rp 3.6 billion.

Antam continued exploration drilling in South East Sulawesi at Tapunopaka, Mandiodo and Bahubulu Island . At these location, Aantam conducted a total of 2,473 meters of drilling with a total cost Rp. 1.1 billion

Antam completed grid measurement, topography, core samples and continued community development initiatives at Obi Island at a total cost of Rp 602 million.

Gold

Antam focused exploration activities in Mranggu, East Java in cooperation with The Bandung Institute Of Technology. Sample analysis is intended to detect other potential mineralizations.

In Arsejulu, North Sumatera, Antam conducted an evaluation for exploration activities, which already finished in May 2005.

Antam conducted exploration activities at Baturappe, South Sulawesi and Mamuju, East Sulawesi and completed Detailed Geology Mapping of 8,950 Ha at a cost of Rp 89.5 million. Antam also conducted exploration activities in Takalar, South Sulawesi for Detailed Geology Mapping of 1,300 ha.

Antam conducted 594.3 meters of drilling at Pongkor gold mine with a total cost of Rp 544.1 million. Antam also conducted technical geological drilling at Pongkor costing Rp 47.6 million.

Gold Exploration, include preparation for two drilling locations at the Cileungsir prospect at Cikotok Banten also continued in cooperation with a third party. All cost occurred at third party?s expense.

Bauxite

Antam continued bauxite exploration at Wacopek, Kijang including an evaluation and final report. The total cost was Rp 23.6 million.

Antam test pitting activities at Tayan used a 25m x 25 m grid. Activities at Tayan included a grid measurement of 11.35 kilometers, test pitting of 1,589 meters and preparation analysis of 493 samples. The total cost for Tayan Bauxite exploration activities amounted to Rp. 27.9 million.
