Press Release: Bumi Resources supplies coal to PT Indonesia Power -PLTU Suralaya

On June 18, 2004, PT. Bumi Resources Tbk (?BUMI?) signed a long term contract with PT. Indonesia Power to supply Ecocoal (5,000 kcal) to PLTU Suralaya within the next three years.

By the signing of this contract, BUMI has set another milestone to enhance its market share in domestic market. During the first year, BUMI?s subsidiary company, PT. Arutmin Indonesia (?Arutmin?), will ship 2,400,000 metric ton of coal between the periods of June 2004 till May 2005.

In the following second and third years, the company plans to ship 3,000,000 metric ton per year with an agreed contract price of US$21.00 per ton. The coal to be supplied to PLTU Suralaya is mined from Arutmin?s sites at Satui area, South Kalimantan, namely Asam-Asam and Mulia.

With the support of several top class mining contractors such as: Thiess Indonesia, PAMA, Cipta Krida and etc, BUMI is optimist that it could produce up to 6,000,000 metric ton of Ecocoal per year in order to supply the domestic coal consumption. (end of release)
