PRESS RELEASE - Iriana Resources Corporation announces the start of an exploration drill program on the Mafi gold prospect in the Irian Jaya

Province of Indonesia, near the international border with Papua New Guinea (PNG). The Mafi occurrence is one of four promising prospects Iriana found during regional exploration of their 124,361 hectare Idenburg property, which lies 150 km northwest of the Ok Tedi and Frieda River porphyry copper deposits in neighbouring PNG. Michael Thirnbeck (AusIMM), General Manager-Exploration, Iriana, Indonesia, designed and is managing the program.
Gold mineralized outcrops at Mafi have been mapped by Iriana over a 6 kilometer segment of the Mafi River thrust complex within volcanic and ultramafic rocks. The best surface result to date is a seven (7) metre channel sample assaying 26.7g/t gold, 445g/t silver and 10.4% lead. Results of rock chip sampling of other gossans at Mafi range up to 737g/t gold, 1760g/t Ag, 23.3% lead, 13.4% zinc and 1.3% antimony.
Iriana is continuing its efforts to complete options on its other properties in Indonesia and currently the company is aggressively examining other strategies and new opportunities.
