PRESS RELEASE: Protest KPC ? Operations continue as normal

A group of several hundred protestors from Samarinda and Bontang arrived at the KPC area on 9 March 2003 and commenced a protest near the entrance to Tanjung Bara. The reason for the protest is not yet clear, however, it appears to be linked to KPC?s divestment process obligations.
KPC is in close cooperation with the police to ensure the situation is controlled and operations are continuing as normal.
