PRESS RELEASE: Reda Pump Indonesia officially opens the Java Sea Service Center

JAKARTA, Indonesia, March 12, 2002 - PT. Reda Pump Indonesia, a joint venture between Schlumberger and PT. Imeco Inter Sarana, today announced the official opening of the Java Sea Service Center (JSSC) located in Pulogadung Industrial Estate, Jakarta.
The Java Sea Service Center is the second one of its kind in Indonesia after the Pekanbaru Service Center that was opened in 1995 to support PT. Caltex Pacific Indonesia's operations in Sumatra. The JSSC will support all customers operating in Indonesia outside of Sumatra.
"Today, approximately 10% of the world's oil supply is produced with submergible pumps. Indonesia is one of the largest users of ESP in the world with more than 3,000 ESP systems operating. To continuously prove our commitment to Indonesia and our customers, PT. Reda Pump Indonesia was incorporated in 1993 as the service organization supporting the full range of Reda products in Indonesia. With an extensive geographic presence worldwide, an excellent cultural fit and strengths in relationship with customers, government and suppliers, we hope that the Reda service center and its localized service needed such as the Java Sea Service Center will help you to keep your production on line and get the most of its optimization," said Carlos Calad, President Schlumberger Oilfield Services Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Dr. Rachmat Sudibjo, the Director General of Oil and Gas of the Republic of Indonesia, in his opening address for JSSC, stated that through this official opening of the JSSC of PT. Reda Pump Indonesia, he looks forward to a continuous support for the Indonesian oil and gas operation that help reduce turn around time therefore reduce lifting cost and increase return on investment; save the state budget from an efficiently oil and gas production facilities utilization. "In the other hand, the JSSC existence as a service center is also provide the country with training resources and facilities for the Indonesian. With global expertise of Schlumberger operations worldwide, the service center can help the Indonesian oil and gas professionals to take some lesson learned and being prepared to go international'," said Dr. Rachmat.
From our customer side, Budiyanto Thomas, Central Business Manager of Maxus Southeast Asia said, "The new RPI Jakarta facilities (JSSC) will shorten our total repair turn around time significantly. We hope it will increase our equipment availability and decrease inventory level, which means improving productivity and efficiency at the same time."
