Prices of non-subsidized fuels sold by Pertamina and Shell Indonesia remain the same this month despite a slight increase in crude oil prices in the past several weeks, Kontan reported Thursday.

Anang Rizkani Noor, the spokesman for Pertamina, said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the company?s Pertamax and Pertamax Plus were sold at Rp 5,900 (1US$ = Rp 11,620) and Rp 6,500, per liter, respectively this week, unchanged from the March prices.

?There was a slight increase in crude oil prices and the exchange rate of rupiah against U.S. dollar last month, but it was not significant enough to push up prices of non-subsidized fuels,? he said.

Shell Indonesia also keeps the prices of its fuels at the March level despite the surge in crude oil prices. Prices of Shell Super and Shell Super Extra remained at Rp 5,900 and Rp 6,500 per liter this week. The price of the company?s Diesel fuel also remains at Rp 6,900 per liter.

Shell media relations, external affair and communication manager Fathia Syarif said that prices of Shell?s fuels had not changed since March 4. ?Shell still uses old prices,? she said. (*)
