PT Medco E&P Indonesia confirmed a disruption of oil production occurred at its Matra field in South Sumatra following the shutting down of the field’s power generating sets by the local authorities of Musi Banyuasin regency at Wednesday 7.30 PM.

Medco E&P spokesperson Aditya Mandala told Petromindo.Com that the local authorities considered that Medco E&P did not have sufficient permit to operate the power generation.

“We will arrange a meeting with the local authorities tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss this matter,” Aditya said.

He added that Medco E&P needed to resolve the problem immediately because it made a disruption of oil pumped from the Matra field to the Kaji Semoga oil gathering station.

The Matra field, which is located about 26 km from the Kaji Semoga, produces around 3,000 barrels of oil per day. (godang)
