Production at Pendopo field reaches 3,000 BOPD

Oil production at Pertamina EP?s Pendopo field has increased sharply to 3,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD), about 124 percent of the company?s December target of 2,420 BPOD.

Pendopo field?s manager Handri Utama attributed the success to reach the 3,000 BPOD production level to the sharp increase in the production at the BKT-37 well at the Benakat Timur structure which reached 730 BOPD.

At present, the Benakat Timur structure, the largest contributor to the Pendopo field?s total production, produces 1,150 BOPD. The increase in the production is possible thanks to the use of the hydraulic fracturing at the prospective layer, pumping unit and ESP.

In order to further increase the production Pertamina EP would also use hydraulic fracturing at other wells, Handri said. (romel)
