PT Pertamina EP (PEP), an upstream subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), has been able to increase production from its Jatibarang field in Indramayu regency, West Java province.

As of Dec. 17, 2015, the field produced 7,979 barrels per day of oil (bopd) and 68.53 mmscfd of gas, PEP Asset 3 Jatibarang Field?s Assistant Manager of Petroleum Engineering Catherine Febriyana said on Friday.

?The achievement that has been made by Jatibarang Field is attributed to X-Ray offshore field and Randegan Structure,? she said.

She said X-Ray field consists of four remote platforms, namely yakni X-Alpha (XA), X-Bravo (XB), X-Delta (XD) with a total of 34 wells, including 20 active wells which is operated using Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP).

?X-Ray has been 40 years old, but its production is not declining. Thanks to innovations we made, it was able to produce 2,112 bopd (as of Dec. 17, 2015),? she said.

Aside from innovations, Catherine said, PEP carried out well intervention in several wells. Thanks to the well intervention, XA-7 well was able to produce 274 bopd, XA-1 well 276 bopd and XD-5 well 150 bopd.

Jatibarang Field Manager Ceppy Agung Kurniawan said X-Ray field is the backbone of Jatibarang field. The firm will continue exploring all measures to further increase X-Ray?s production.

The RDG structure located in Majalengka regecy also meaningfully contributed to Jatibaran?s production. The reopening of RDG-44 well of the structure contributed 361 bopd, while well intervention program at RDG-53 and RDG-6 produced 237 bopd and 126 bopd respectively.
