Upstream authority SKK Migas projected production schedule of the Kepodang gas field in Muriah block, operated by Malaysia?s Petronas Carigali, will be delayed to May 2015 from the initial plan in the fourth quarter of 2014.
"Kepodang field will be ready to produce 116 mmscfd of gas in May 2015. Hopefully the construction of the first phase Kalija gas pipeline project can also be completed by the time," SKK Migas Operation Deputy Muliawan told Petromindo.com.
He added that the entire gas from the Kepodang field will be allocated to state owned electricity firm PT PLN.
The 207 km Kalija I gas pipeline project is developed by PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas, which is 80 percent owned by state owned gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk. and 20 percent PT Bakrie and Brothers. The pipeline will link the Kepodang gas field, offshore Central Java, and the combined cycle Tambak Lorok power plant in Central Java.
PGN said earlier that construction of the Kalija I gas pipeline project is expected to be completed in the third quarter of next year.
