Production activities at Wasambo (Walanga, Sambisambi, Bone) fields in Sengkang, South Sulawesi, operated by Energy Equity Epic Sengkang, have been delayed again to the end of this year, according to an official at the upstream authority SKK Migas.
?Production of Wasambo fields looks like to be delayed again to the end of the year, because the downstream facilities have yet to be completed. The upstream program has been completed, but the LNG project has not been completed,? Taslim Z. Yunus, SKK Migas' Head of Program and Reporting said.
The field is projected to produce 80 mmscfd of gas.
The Sengkang LNG plant project in South Sulawesi is now under construction by ASX-listed Energy World Corporation(EWC). Taslim said earlier that the project was initially planned to be on-stream in the second quarter of 2016, but was then delayed to the first quarter of 2017, and now is delayed again to the end of this year.
The allocation of Wasambo gas for the Sengkang LNG Project was granted on October 20, 2015.
Head of Gas and Oil Fuel Division at PLN Chairani Rachmatullah said earlier that the 100 MW PLTG Gorontalo gas turbine power plant in Pohuwatu district, Gorontalo province, which is owned by state owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Lisrik Negara (PLN) (Persero), will get supply of gas from Wasambo fields at a maximum volume of 70 bbtud.
