Production schedule of the Bukit Tua oil field in Ketapang Block, offshore East Java, operated by Malaysia?s Petronas Carigali, has been pushed back to next year from the initial fourth quarter 2014 as operational activities have been suspended due to unstable soils condition at the site, Investor Daily reported on Thursday.
Acting Chairman of the Upstream Oil and Gas Authority SKK Migas, J. Widjonarko said that to resume operational activities at Bukit Tua, there has to be an evaluation process to analyze the soil condition using the latest data because the data used so far has been old data from 2007.
With the delay of the production schedule, the expected additional oil output of 20,000 bpd from the Bukit Tua field cannot be realized this year, Widjonarko said. (*)
