PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) said that progress of construction of a 267 km transmission gas pipeline linking Gresik in East Java and Semarang in Central Java has reached 53 percent of the targeted works.

Pertagas President Director Hendra Jaya said in a statement Sunday that the gas pipeline, which has a diameter of 28 inches and a capacity of 500 mmscfd, is targeted to be completed in the first quarter of 2016

Pertagas develops the gas pipeline, which links seven regencies/mayoralties in the two provinces to help increase gas supply to industries and power plants along the route. In 2016-2018, the pipeline will obtain gas supply from Kangean and Husky at a volume of 30 mmscfd. Additional supply will come from Cepu?s Jembaran-Tiung Biru field and Cendana at a volume of 100 mmscfd.

Pertagas is also developing other gas pipeline projects including the Porong-Grating route in East Java, and the Cirebon-Semarang pipeline in West and Central Java, which once completed will link the Java Island from East to the West.

The 56 km Porong-Grati pipeline project, with a diameter of 18 inches and capacity of 120 mmscfd, has been completed by about 60 percent, Pertagas said.

For the 255 km Cirebon-Semarang pipeline project, Pertagas is ready to cooperate with state-owned engineering and construction firm PT Rekayasa Industri.
