The progress of the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) works of the 267 km gas pipeline linking Gresik in East Java and Semarang in Central Java which is operated by gas distribution company PT Pertagas, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, has reached 76 percent of the targeted works.
?The progress of the construction has reached 76 percent. Completion of the work is a little bit late, because the expected target should have been 77 percent. However the figure was not far off the target,? Pertamina?s Vice President for Gas and Power, Djohardi Angga Kusumah told Petromindo.com on Friday.
The 28-inch diameter pipeline passes through four regencies/mayoralties in Central Java and three regencies in East Java, and partly planted on the right part of the railway track of the state-owned railway firm PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).
Pertagas is developing the pipeline with a capacity of 500 mmscfd to help increase gas supply for industries along the route. In 2016-2018, the pipeline will obtain gas supply from Kangean and Husky at a volume of 30 mmscfd.
Additional supply will come from Cepu?s Jembaran-Tiung Biru field and Cendana at a volume of 100 mmscfd, as reported by this portal previously. Pertagas previously said the project would be completed in the first quarter of this year.
A consortium led by IDX-listed construction and engineering firm PT Wijaya Karya Tbk has been assigned to carry out the EPC works.
