Progress of Tabalong power plant project reaches 40%

Independent power producer PT Adaro Power said that construction progress of its 2x100 MW coal-fired power plant project in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan Province, has now reached 40 percent.

Dharma Djojonegoro, Vice President Director of Adaro Power said that the power plant project is on track to meet the target for commercial operation in 2019. ?Progress has reached 40 percent,? he told Petromindo.com on Monday on the sidelines of a Coaltrans conference in Bali.

He said that the first of the planned two boilers has been installed, and the control room is also nearly completed.

PT Tanjung Power Indonesia (TPI), which is 65 percent by Adaro Indonesia, a subsidiary of IDX-listed coal giant PT Adaro Energy Tbk, and the remaining 35 percent is held by PT East-West Power Indonesia, a subsidiary of Korea East-West Power Co Ltd, is developing the estimated US$545 million power plant project. TPI obtained in January of this year lending commitment of $422 million for the project, whose construction process started in June of last year.
