Provident commences drilling in Tarakan Offshore

Provident Energy has commenced drilling of Bayan A-1 exploration well in Tarakan Offshore PSC in East Kalimantan, a BPMIGAS official said asq uoted by Bisnis Indonesia daily.

BPMIGAS Representative Head for Kalimantan and Sulawesi area Agus Surono said that the well was part of three-well drilling campaign that provident would undertake in the block. He added that the wells would be drilled to the depth of 9,500 feet with drilling costs estimated at US$4.5 million per well.

Provident has 100 percent working interest in the block.(*)
