PT Antang Gunung Meratus to start coal exploitation soon

PT Antang Gunung Meratus would soon start coal exploitation in three districts in the Hulu Sungai Selatan (HSS) regency in South Kalimantan, the local Banjarmasin Post daily reported Thursday.

The paper quoted head of the local mining office HM Riswandi as saying that Antang had submitted the necessary environmental impact assessment study, which is locally called Amdal, and was currently being evaluated jointly by the office and Lambung Mangkurat University.

He expected the Amdal to be approved in October, which would pave the way for Antang to start coal exploitation activity.

Riswandi said that the coal exploitation would center in three districts including Telaga Langsat, Padang Batu, and Sungai Raya.(*)
