The head of the mining office in the regency, Syarifuddin Nursyamsu, said Thursday that the company should stop its operation in the forest area until it received a special license from the ministry of forests.
"The company has 14 days to stop the operation," he was quoted as saying. According to him, his office had sent two warning letters to the company to stop its operation in the forest area, with the first one being sent on Jan. 20, while the first one was delivered on Nov. 29, last year.
According to him, the closure of the company's coal mine in the regency's office would not pose a serious problem to its ability to meet shipment contracts. Therefore, it will not be a problem for the company to stop the operation, he added. (*)
