PT GDM will soon begin coal exploration in East Kalimantan

Coal mining company PT Gerbang Daya Mandiri said it would soon begin exploration activities at its 1,500 hectare coal mine in Tenggarong Seberang, East Kalimantan, Kaltim Post reported on Friday.
"We hope we will be able to begin exploration activities in February, next year," the company's boss, Setia Budi said. He added that the new coal mine which is expected to employ about hundreds of workers, is estimated to produce about 100,000 tons of coal a year.
He said that East Kalimantan-based company would cooperate with PT Agra Budi in the development of the coal mine. Agra Budi is expected to provide the financing and the procurement of heavy equipment for the project. (*)
