PT Inco gets new CEO

Shareholders of nickel producer PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (Inco) Thursday appointed Bing R. Tobing new president director and chief executive officer of the firm, replacing Edward W. Hodkin, Inco said.
They also gave James K. Gowan the company's vice president, taking over from Bing, and Eddie A. Arsyad its director to replace retiring Andre C. Daenuwy, the company said in a statement.
In their extraordinary meeting, Inco shareholders also appointed Hadi Sutanto & Rekan and Pricewaterhouse Coopers external auditors of the company for the year ending December 31, 2003.
PT Inco, which operates nickel mine in South Sulawesi, is owned by Inco Limited (58.73 percent), Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. of Japan (20.09 percent) and the public (21.18 percent).
The company has set a target to produce 150 million pounds of nickel matte this year, up from 130 million pounds in 2002. (godang)
